Hello world,

My name is Jake Hodges. Robb Cairl, C-air-l not Carl, and I are partners in this organization. I sort of stumbled upon the Mountain Mentors after speaking with an old friend's stepdad who helped with the program many years ago; long story short: here I am. Like many new members, I engaged the program without knowing what to expect. While writing this, it dawned on me that I still don't know exactly what I've gotten into; luckily, Robb and I have similar interests… bonus- the other mentors and students are super approachable, genuine people. I don't qualify as an official "outdoor person", but I've always been willing to explore nature and her wonders. Working with adolescents in a natural setting appealed to me, given the path I chose when I entered middle school education. So here I am, a Mountain Mentor, looking to help our community and develop my professionalism as an aspiring classroom teacher. In the words of my student, Robb, "I'm not into all that touchy feely stuff," but I am into broadening my horizons. Cheers, Jake
