Patti Travis is an educator in the Toledo Public School System. She has taught for 8years a variety of grades from Kindergarten - 8th Grade. She atteneded the College of Charleston in Charleston, SC and received her Masters in Education from National Louis University in Illinois. She is an avid traveler and Red Sox fan. Patti firmly believes that one person can make a difference in a child's life and that there are no bad children only bad choices. She heard about Mountain Mentors through a friend and became involved in the program in 2005. She mentored for three years and then became a part of the Mountain Mentor Board. She has said that "Mountain Mentors provides a link, a lifeline to children who sometimes just need someone from outside their family to listen, care and offer support." "To often at-risk children are prejudged or written off...mountain mentors take the time to build a relationship with the children and through the variety of activities provide children with numerous positive activities and life experiences."
