Sue Thayer currently serves Mountain Mentors as president of the board and as a mentor. She grew up in Dayton, Ohio, and went to the College of Wooster in social work. Married 43 years, she and husband Chuck have raised their multi-cultural family in Toledo since 1971. Mrs. Thayer received a Masters in guidance and counseling from the University of Toledo in 1996. She worked 30 years in patient and family support and complaint management as a patient representative for The Toledo Hospital. Both her work and volunteer experience, including Girl Scouting and church youth activities, became a foundation for joining Mountain Mentors in 2001. “MM is the perfect fit with what I means the most to me: enjoying nature, and empowering kids/families with faith-full support.” Hobbies include hiking, biking, and grandmothering seven beautiful children.
