I am currently serving as board president of Mountain Mentors. This is my fifth year volunteering with Mountain Mentors. I received a bachelor's degree from Bowling Green State University and a master's degree from the University of Toledo.
My interests include hiking, running, and working with students. I love the active and physically challenging aspect of Mountain Mentors and the challenge of the accomplishment of finishing a marathon. As an avid runner, I will do my ninth marathon in Boston this spring. I have spent the past nine years working with middle school and high school aged students as a teacher and administrator. I have a deep interest in working with this age as they are going through this critical time in their lives. The best advice I can give someone who wants to work with adolescents is simply to remember what is was like when you were that age. It is easily the most challenging time in one’s life. Be cognizant that we can influence these young people in a positive manner.
